I excelled at art school and took advanced art as a subject, topping the year in my School Certificate. While my children were growing up my art was put aside. I returned to my passion 10 years ago. I studied with Ron Hartree for 4 years and then with watercolour artist Joyce Delacca. I have attended many weekend workshops and also Camp Creative at Bellingen, obtaining as much information as possible from professional artists. For the first 4 years I worked mainly in acrylics, however at the moment I am concentrating on watercolours.
I have been secretary of the Newcastle art Society for 3 years and exhibit with this society and at many other exhibitions in the Hunter Region. I have won many awards over the years at various art exhibtion’s including “Matara” run by the Newcastle Society of Artists, Newcastle Art Society exhibitions held at shopping centres, the William Dobell exhibition and Art Scrawl at Pokolbin.
My paintings are all originals from places I have visited and no two paintings are ever the same. I work in watercolour and paint a great variety of subject’s including flowers, animals, people and landscapes.
