19/11/2018 – Our final meeting for the year kicked off with a fabulous demonstration by pastel artist Gwendoline Lewis, showing us her wonderful style and some new and interesting techniques. Gwendoline is well known for her vibrant pastel paintings, and her generosity is greatly appreciated. The guests we have throughout the year are both informative and inspiring, and are always a highlight of our meetings. Prizes were awarded to all winners from our recent exhibition at Belmont Citi Centre – with Carol McCrohan having the most votes in the People’s Choice competition, the winning voter being Jeanette Vale from Valentine. Our beautiful raffle painting (also by Carol McCrohan!) was won by Beryl from Eleebana, with ticket # 13345. Congratulations to all our winners! A total of 23 paintings sold at the exhibition and we have been booked again for next year. In the meantime, our pop-up shop is opening again every Wednesday to Saturday up til Christmas, so if you missed out on your favourite painting at the exhibition or are looking for something a little different, pop in and see one of our friendly artists who will be manning the shop from 10am til 4pm. This is a great opportunity to purchase a special Christmas present, with 3 rooms full of original artworks by our members.
