21/09/2017 – The September meeting was a big one, kicking off with a fantastic demonstration by renowned local artist Annie Palmer (pictured). Annie is known for her generosity of knowledge and support for fellow artists, as well as her beautiful and vibrant artwork. She discussed her use of inks and mixed media in collage and painting, and happily shared with us all her tips and techniques. After a break for afternoon tea and a chat, the meeting reconvened and our recent exhibition at Lake Macquarie Fair became the topic of conversation. With a total of 37 paintings sold, the exhibition once again proved a success – with the Centre Management booking us in again for August 2018. The raffle was drawn for Pamela Rose’s beautiful painting, a huge congratulations goes to E. Getty  for purchasing the winning ticket # 12104. The People’s Choice was awarded to Norma Clarke for her gorgeous watercolour kookaburras ‘Mum, Dad & Babies’ with the winning voter being Pamela Barnwell. This exhibition also saw our inaugural Mystery Draw, open to all participating artists, and this year the prize went to Eleanor Anson. Congratulations to all our winners and artists for another wonderful exhibition – now to start getting ready for our next one at Belmont Citi Centre in six weeks!
