22/08/2018 – We were lucky to have Eleanor Anson step in at the last minute for this month’s demonstration at our general meeting.  Well known for her mixed media works, Eleanor shared her tips for using a variety of mediums and her techniques for achieving some fantastic effects with acrylic paint and inks. Exhibitions were also on the agenda, especially the success of our recent inaugural show at SEEN at the Swansea Centre. This exhibition was put together at short notice and proved to be very popular with the local community. We are planning on doing this exhibition again next year, so stay tuned for more information at a later date! We are once again part of the art display currently on show at John Hunter Hospital, with quite a few of our members once again contributing their artwork to brighten the hospital walls. As usual, all work is for sale. We are also looking forward to our first exhibition in the foyer of Newcastle Theatre Company at Lambton, which will begin 29th September, as well as our annual exhibition at Belmont Citi Centre later in the year. Don’t forget our shopfront display at Belmont Citi Centre changes monthly, with paintings by various members – again all for sale and a taste of what’s to come when the exhibition starts in November.
