19/09/2018 – Central Coast artist Peter Tassell was guest demonstrator at this month’s general meeting, and treated us all to a wonderful lesson in oil painting. Peter’s use of colour and light was impressive as we watched his fabulous scene unfold from nothing to a virtually completed painting within the hour! For those of us that don’t generally work in oils as well as those who do, it was a most informative and interesting demonstration. The various demonstrators at each meeting are always inspiring and we all really appreciate our guest artists who happily share their knowledge, tips and techniques with us. Also a big thank you to Pamela Rose for coordinating our guests and arranging something different every month.

Lots of discussion too this month regarding upcoming exhibitions. While paintings are still on display at John Hunter Hospital, entries are closing soon for our annual exhibition at Belmont Citi Centre in November, and something new – an exhibition with Newcastle Theatre Company in October.
